Those involved hope to put this city on the map for more than music. The full fledged fashion week will match up to cities like New York, Paris and LA, but it also about showcasing the undiscovered local talent on a national level. "You have a lot of brands and emerging designers that are coming into town and ringer in front of this audience because Nashville is known for being chic. It is a very trendy city right now, " said organizer Marcia Masulla. About a third of the designers showing their lines next week are from the Nashville area. Two friends from Franklin behind the brand Jamie and Jones are thrilled to be included in the first ever event. "It makes us strive to be better and keep learning because that what our passion is, " said designer Jamie Frazier. Fashion week will feature 5 days of shows from designers like Betsey Johnson. Tickets are still available at Nashville Fashion Week. All the proceeds go to a fund that will help one lucky local designer get their start.
